  2. 3rd Asia Pacific Primary Care Research Conference, Summit Hotel, Subang USJ. 3-4th Dec 2011

The Malaysian Primary Care Research Group (MPCRG) was encouraged to continue to host this event after the successful conferences in Malacca and Singapore. This Conference has proven to be a fertile platform for primary care researchers across Asia Pacific to disseminate their research work, learn new research knowledge and skills, and network and collaborate with like-minded colleagues.
The Conference also provides a safe environment for novice primary care researchers to learn research skills and showcase their research ideas. This was seen during the last Conference, where the novice researchers were guided by experienced mentors and competed in an ‘American Idol’ style Research Championship.
This year, we aim to take the Conference to a greater height – we have planned an exciting scientific programme for you and have invited outstanding international and local speakers and workshop facilitators who will guarantee an enjoyable and fruitful Conference.
While maintaining the objective of nurturing the novice researchers in primary care research (Pre-Conference: Research Championship), the focus of the 2011 Conference will be to explore practical ways to do research in busy general practice and discuss strategies to translate research evidence into practice via health system research. The participants will have a chance to have a hands-on experience in qualitative interviewing, using SPSS programme for data analysis and learn about the nuts and bolts of health system research.
We also welcome you to submit abstracts and the best oral and poster presenters will receive certificates and awards.
